Project Synopsis

This platform connects pregnant women to care when they need it the most. It is an affordable system helping to reduce high rates of maternal mortality. Our developers built a frontend web portal for clients to access various data, assign taxi ambulances in critical conditions, and pay out the drivers instantly through m-PESA or other govt. approved payment methods.

Project Requirement

Several pregnant women and their babies in rural Africa lack the to get resources to medical facilities in the event of a pregnancy-related emergency, thus resulting in higher rates of fatalities and handicaps.

This is not just a universal tragedy, but a heartbreaking actuality for many families in Africa. This platform is an economical answer to diminish high maternal mortality rates, acknowledged by the United Nations as the principal health problem of the Sustainable Development Goals.

That’s why our client wanted to develop a cost-effective emergency transport system which can provide taxi ambulances in areas where these services are rarely available.

ValueCoders team understood the client’s needs and developed a system that helps patients in their emergency cases.

This system is financially supported at a national level in various countries by a joint venture between Vodafone Foundation and respective National Governments.

Further funding support is done by Grand Challenges Canada. Meanwhile, the system’s implementation is managed by Touch Foundation, Pathfinder International, Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), and local government facilities and authorities. In terms of sustainability, local and national government resources finance the system and also supply its necessary personnel.
