ValueCoders was approached by a major industry player to develop an advanced OTT platform mobile app similar to their web app. The client required enhanced user engagement through content reviews, artist tips via InApp currency, and referrals. Our team delivered the app by seamlessly integrating these features, creating a dynamic all-in-one entertainment app.
The project was to develop a comprehensive streaming OTT platform app, akin to popular services like Netflix and Hotstar, encompassing all standard features. Users will relish various functionalities, including watching trailers, teasers, and full-length movies.
Moreover, they can contribute reviews and ratings to content, enhancing user engagement.
A unique attribute of the app is its innovative artist support feature, enabling users to send monetary tips to artists they admire. The utilization of InApp currency streamlines this process, promoting a vibrant creator-viewer ecosystem.
Additionally, users can enjoy the social aspect by sharing referral codes with friends and family, fostering growth through network expansion.
In summary, the app seamlessly replicates conventional OTT experiences while incorporating distinctive elements like artist support and referral rewards, resulting in an all-encompassing entertainment platform that caters to both content consumers and creators.
The client’s app was already live on the web, so our team had to replicate all the functionalities & features available on the web to the mobile app by taking the help of the XD file shared by the Client.
The app is a streaming OTT project where users can watch different genres of movies and documentaries according to their preferences. They can also add reviews and send tips to artists using the currency available in their wallets, add movies to the watchlist, send referrals, make video calls, and message requests to artists.
The app is still in development, and more features will be added to it per the client’s requirements and preferences.

The ValueCoders expert team meticulously crafted a comprehensive overview of the Live Web app, encompassing UI design and color palettes.
They also meticulously examined all utilized API endpoints in the Web App using the browser Network tab. Given the absence of a Figma file and only an Adobe XD design, they adeptly utilized it to streamline the development process effectively.
PROCESS
After gathering as many assets, API endpoints, and resources available, the assigned team started working on the UI development. The goal was to do the development and integrate the API endpoints at all places, taking the help of browser development tools.
DOCUMENTATION
The App is still in the development stage. 60-70% of the work is done. New features and functionalities will be added as per the Client’s requirements.
ARCHITECTURE
Project architecture resembles popular OTT/Video Streaming apps like Netflix and Hotstar. Features like making video calls and message requests to artists and giving tips to them through an In-App currency were add-ons.
